Elsa Rhae inspired monster
This was partly inspired by the wrestler Fergal Devitt/Prince Devitt/Finn Balor, but the main inspiration was Youtube blogger Elsa Rhae, a talented makeup artist/illusionist. I watched her arachnophobia tutorial and then got to it! Was hard not to just copy what she did as hers is so good - I could add more of my style in time. Check out her stuff at www.youtube.com/user/ElsaRhae

Skeleton
For this look I used face paint, eye shadow with water, grease paint and powder. It looked better once I went over the black grease paint with greys and browns to soften it up and make it look aged. This is partly inspired by the makeup from TV series American Horror Story, but I really just ad-libbed from my memory of drawing skulls in art lessons back in school.
Thanks again to Deebs for modelling for me.

Full Glasgow Grin
This is a little more OTT than the half glasgow smile before.
If you ever want to see me in an EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE light, please look no further.
First without any fake blood (Most of these are without flash as the flash on my camera makes the red grease paint look too bright and the fake blood pops out even more later on)

Again I used a similar method to last time, although I struggled more with the scarwax this time as it seemed to melt rather awkwardly. I also used a bit of black and purple shadow around the eyes.
Now here are a few pics after the fake blood was added. WARNING these get sexier and sexier as you scroll down.
All set for Halloween. Or if I need to blend in with a gang of particularly violent zombies.

Corpse
The first rehearsal I will be attending for the music video takes place tomorrow. I have been asked to make someone up to look like a corpse. This is part of the story where Queen Victoria is in the throws of passion with a young gentleman, who kicks the bucket during the act (she then goes on to ban the country from having any kind of romantic contact and problems ensue...)
Alive...
...Not so much:
Took me a while to get the balance right, tried the whole 'crossed out eyes' look, but it was too gothy and wasn't as humorous as I thought it would be, only creepy.
Having my the eyes closed makes it more chilling, as it hides the fact that there is actually life in my eyes. Or at least signs of life.
Looking forward to trying this out on someone new, hopefully with some better lighting too!

Monsters: Creepy Victorian Porcelain Doll
So while I'm posting unflattering creepy looks, I might as well put up my most recent experiment - the creepy doll look. After the Luchador night I felt it was time to go down a girlier route, although it's certainly not girly in a good way as you will see below.
I tried to be as dead-eyed as possible in these photographs! I think my eyes went a bit squinty in the photos below from looking in the flash too much but it all adds to the freakiness of the look I think. I also incorporated a bit of hair styling this time to round things off.
I could even make these creepier by adding some gore. I feel I may revisit fake blood/wounds in my next venture.
Monsters: Zombie
This zombie creation was inspired by a youtube video by Rick Baker, legendary special effects makeup guru (who worked on such films as The Exorcist and Men in Black). I will maybe someday create my own original zombie character.
Warning - I look pretty scary in these photos and you may never see me in the same way again. Or maybe it's not that different to my usual appearance.

With/without flash. Neither is much better than the other really. Need to get a proper camera.
Close up of "exposed teeth"
Could add a bit more gore to this - maybe next time I will add some putty and create a few cuts and oozy bits.
With a straggely, greying wig (very cheap I may add). I could add some fake blood next time round the mouth and fake wound. At the moment it's more ghost or frankenstein than zombie.
